New Music

Being introduced to new music always fires me up. My best friend, Adam, has been pushing this band on me for a while, but I just kind of shrugged it off. Tonight I took a close listen, and I am just so happy that I did. It sounds so neat and different. I'll be listening to this as I jog.

What was the last song that shocked you into paying attention?

  1. new music fires me up too. every one or two weeks I find a song that gets my attention in such a manner, that I can't listen to any other song. New songs are insane, the feeling I get when I find a new song is pretty particular. Literally, last week I listened to just one song and one song only, I was in love with its sounds and meaning. Love your music. Love the message.

  3. The last song that shocked me into paying attention is called rhinestone eyes by Gorillaz. I liked it so much mainly because of the beats and the lyrics of the song.

  4. I have always loved The Kills! Every time that my cousin introduces me to a Indie band, I get so excited! Indie music is so different and weird, but I love it! I think that the song that skocked me me into paying attention is a song by Amy Winehouse that has been on the radio for a long time. I don't remember the name though.

  8. This past summer I've been listening to the album The Colour and the Shape by the Foo Fighers. I got hooked when I listened to the 11th track, "Everlong." I was "shocked into listening" at how they expressed what can't be explained within their music.

  9. This is a different kind of music that I've never heard. It does not have any lyric, but as you can see the video, i can quite understand what the music is about. The last song that shocked me was a new song from korea, i loved the song because the lyrics sounded like it were reading my mind.

  10. Just like almost everyone else has said, l love listening to music I have never heard before. It's a wonderful experience when you experience new things. I enjoy it when I listen to something I have never heard before, and completely fall in love with it. Right now I am hooked on "Devil's Workday" by Modest Mouse. It's definitely something I don't regularly listen to, but I looooooove it :)

  11. I love new songs, however, the last song that shocked me into paying attention and listen it almost everyday was "Secrets" from OneRepublic. This song is pretty old, but i love the rhythm and the lyrics. Old songs are cool and the lyrics are more original.

  13. Follow up comment: what makes me pay the most attention to a song, and the songs that have the greatest impact in me, depends mostly on the rhythm, the lyrics and if it reminds me of an important part of my life.

  14. I agree with Pablo! I think this is my criteria for figuring out how good a song or a piece of music are. I also agree with Stacy in the point that I like to listen to music I've never really heard before. And a question for Mr. AB: Is the group "Satellite" the one that sings these songs? Also, I'll try to download this song, you know, it might even give you energy....
