Mongolia

I've been wondering what it would be like to live in Mongolia. Pictures of this land, like this one, make me want to fly over its mountains and oceans of plains. I think that the part of why Mongolia inspires me is it's vast ruggedness, and the fact that I don't know hardly anything about it. The grass is always greener on the other side.

My fascination with this land of soaringly wide grasslands and rough stone has led me to add it to my list of Places to Live, which grows longer every year, and includes places such as Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, New Zealand, and South Africa. What lands call out to you, and why? What are the countries on your Places to Live list?

  1. Yeah...Mongolia looks like a really nice place. I would like to live in San Diego, Aruba, Canada, Latvia, etc. I think these are cool too. Oh! And by the way, during the weekend that just passed, I saw a documentary video about sand storms in Beijing. It was really interesting. People have even died because of these. Believe it or not, most of the sand from various deserts in Mongolia are the main cause for these terrible natural disasters. Sand from these deserts travel hundreds or even thousands of miles with the wind until they finally get to China. I wonder if this is why we see the mountains in the picture with a lot of unstable earth; it looks like if dust could just fly out of these.

  2. That picture is a very beautiful one. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it is Photoshopped. My list of places to live, places to visit, is very long too. Like you, it includes New Zealand and South Africa, and there is also Switzerland, Iceland, Luxembourg, etc.

  3. This picture probably taken by a professional photographer in my opinion really demonstrates the beauty of nature. It is probably winter because some of the huge amazing mountains are still covered with some snow.

  4. I would love to live anywhere in Europe. They have the coolest accents there. I just want to go to Europe so bad. Even if it was only for a day. Although I would prefer a longer trip.

  5. I was dreaming of the same scene like 3 weeks ago. I totally going to Mongolia after I graduate because it looks like a nice place to hangout. Guys see the image well and think about if you were stuck in the middle of that place with nothing but water.

  6. I would really love to live in places like New Zeland and Jamaica. Personally i have an strange feeling when i hear about Jamaica. it is my dream to go there and just live there as a free man. i would also love to go to some small islands where there are not worries, for example Fiji, Hawai, Point Nemo and all of those tropical islands in the pacific ocean.

  7. I can see you in Jamaica, Marco. I get that same strange feeling too, when I think about living in Peru. Some people say to me, "oh, you're not going to live there" but for some reason I just know, you know? Every time something that has to do with Peru crosses my path, I get this same feeling. I can't really explain it, other than feeling like I'm free.

  9. I would not mind any countries, but I want to live in a countryside where I can raise vegetables, fruits, or grains. I think it would be so peaceful.
