A Solution to the No YouTube Rule

In light of the new rule that has been imposed in ICT class (no YouTube, yeah it's sad), I have come up with a solution:

neverendingplaylist.com

It's very easy to use: just put in your favorite artist's name, wait, and enjoy! I'm the kind of person that has to listen to a lot of songs from an artist to decide whether I like them or not, and once I decide I like them, I listen to more of their songs because I do. Yes, there are times when I get sick of listening to the same artist over and over again, so there is another option:

8tracks.com

You're going to love that one! I know I do. Instead of listening to music by artists, you choose playlists according to genres. There's all kinds of categories: indie rock, chill, summer, study, etc. The playlists are uploaded by fellow 8tracks users, so if you make an account, you can save the playlists that you like, or you can upload your own playlist to share. And for all the iSomething users out there (and I'm pretty sure that's most of the students and teachers here): there is also an app yay!

Independent Artist Worth Listening

Have you heard "I am" by Jose Keenan? If you have not, you should. In fact, you should listen to the whole album, Heavy Duty. Jose Keenan is an amazing musician. He is just 19 years old and he is extremely talented. He was born in Mexico but has lived in several other countries including Brazil. He is a really cool guy and it is really fun to be with him. Yes, I know, it sounds like I have met him and that is because I did. I actually went to the movies with him and a couple of other friends. We had a great time.
Anyway, going back to Jose's talent, here is a link where you can check his music: http://joskeenan.bandcamp.com/. Also, just so you get an idea to how talented he is, he records everything himself and he plays all the instruments in his songs. That is part of the reason a lot of his music is acoustic. This is his first album and many people have bought it online already. I recommend for you to do the same because it is that good. I am sure that you will love it. I know I did and if you remember Josh Garcia, he also loved it.

Harishima Island (coolest island ever)

Harishima Island is and island located in Japan. This used to be an island where lots of people lived in. While people lived there they mined underground to find coal, and they found it. After hundreds of years, that coal turned into fuel. By that time, the island was already inhabited.  Harishima Island is one of the 505 uninhabited islands in Nagaski Prefecture. The island was populated from 1887 to 1974. There is currently a population of 0 people there.

Alright enough of the boring educational stuff. Harishima Island is cool because if you look from far away it looks like a battleship when there are lights around it. As a matter of fact, many movies were inspired by this-so-called battleship island. Personally I think we should have more population over there.

From Knocking Doors to Texting

Have you asked your parents how they met? Or your grandparents? Have you asked them what they would do when they hanged out with their friends and how they communicated with each other? If you have, I bet that they didn't mention facebook, twitter, skype, or whatsapp. They probably didn't even mention phones or internet. Your dad probably sent paper notes to your mom and instead of texting his friends, he actually went to their house, knocked, and asked them if they wanted to go play. This, of course, was more than a decade ago and everything has drastically changed in the world. Technology has improved and trends have changed over and over again. Now, we send a short whatsapp to ask a friend if they want to hang out, we tweet to let the whole world  about anything interesting, we upload pictures to Instagram, and we call people through skype or viber. None of that existed ten or fifteen years ago. Your parents or grandparents probably still can't believe that video calls are possible. They are probably still surprised of all the technology advances that us, as teenagers, are so used to. None of that is new to us like it is to our parents.

Best Singer Ever!

For those of you who know me well, you probably already know who my favorite singer is. For those of you who don't,well, you will find out. And no, he's not Justin Bieber or any of the guys from One Direction. He is actually from Guatemala and he is 49 years old. Yes, I know, he is very old. He could be our dad, but that's not the point. The point is that he is AMAZING and very successful. He has more than 10 albums and over 150 songs. The lyrics of all his songs are inspiring and among them is always the perfect one to dedicate to someone or to listen to just to cheer yourself up.
In 2012, he started his "Metamorfosis World Tour" right after the huge success of his last album, "Independiente," in 2011. During this tour he went to so many countries all around America including Guatemala, the U.S, Chile, Argentina, and many others. And every single concert was sold out. He recently finished his tour in the Dominican Republic which means it lasted over a year and a half.
Below, there is a video of one of his most famous songs and the one with which he usually ends every concert. You could also check out his site: http://ricardoarjona.com/
Oh and something else, he is from here so he sings in Spanish. Just in case you were expecting a song in English.

The Ender's game Movie.

Sebastian Kong

This movie is inspired by the book "enders game." I'm not going to go into too much detail because I don't want to spoil the movie or book but to generalize it. Ender is a boy that has been chosen to lead a fleet against the alien race they call the buggers. The book and movie explains what he had to go through in order to claim this position. I recommend to see the movie first before reading the book because movies are mostly not as good as the books. Take a look at this trailer for a further understanding of the story.

Tennis History Champions

My favorite sportis tennis, so I really wanted to share one of the tennis champions that made history. My first favorite, the amazing doubles partners The Bryan Brothers. They have made so many amazing wins in so many tournaments. for example, Wimbledon.

 .

Another reason why their amazing is because in their games they'll pull crazy tricks. They have got some game. They always know how to and when to and they've got amazing technique. Watch this next clip for an amazing save by the Bryan Brothers.

The videos pretty much explain how amazing they are. So therefor they are one of my favorite players in the tennis world. <3

It's NOT about the Nail

Ever try to tell something to someone just for the sake of getting out of you -not expecting advice or criticism- but feel frustrated because that someone keeps trying to say something that you don't want to hear? Or have you ever tried to help someone because you know something that they don't know but they're not willing to listen? Annoying, isn't it? There are people who just want to please others instead of saying what they really think, and those are the people who would probably keep quiet in a situation that requires interfering. On the other hand, there are people who just say whatever they want to, not thinking about other people's thoughts or feelings. There are circumstances that it's better to keep quiet, and there are other times when it's right to speak up. However, sometimes the line dividing those two can be blurry, and most people are not able to identify it. Have you ever struggled because of that? What are some experiences that you have when you don't know whether you should keep quiet or you should speak up?

Wolverine 2

In modern day Japan, Wolverine is out of his depth in an unknown world as he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before. Written by Twentieth Century Fox

Right now this is one of my favorite movies, it has a really good story and some intensive action. Its sure to keep you at the edge of your seat the entire show. It does have some gross or not appropriate parts but of course that depends on the audience. Over all its an great action adventure film I recommend it for having a fun time.

Despicable ME 2

Despicable Me 2

Despicable me 2 is an animated, comedy movie about a man named Gru, his three adopted girls, and his army of Minions who are absolutely hilarious. This movie came out a few month ago and is definitely a movie that is worth your while. I recommend watching the first of the two movies in order to get a further understanding of what is going on. Of course the first one is just as funny. Here is the official trailer for this movie, enjoy.

12 Minutes of Happiness

I'm going to be completely honest: usually, when posts with really good videos come up, I only read the written part while waiting for the video to start, and once it does, I don't make it to the end of the writing. I'm pretty sure that a lot of you guys do that too. And I also know that if the videos are too long, you don't watch them completely. When watching the amazing-guy-with-the-beard play, your mouth will most likely be dropping to the ground. But! If you are a weird person who can't handle awesome guitar playing skills for twelve minutes, you can just leave that playing in another tab while browsing aimlessly through the Internet, like we all do.

Enjoy!

Hunger Games: Catching Fire

First things first, I just want to state out that the hunger game series is an amazing series. The books and the movies are both great! In my opinion, I prefer the first movie, Hunger Games. The second movie has not come out yet, which is a disgrace. Although I can't wait for it to come out. The second movie is titled as folows: Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It will come out in theaters on october or november
The hunger games is a series that is basically survive or die. It is about a group of people that fight their hardest to survive challenges they face in the wild. They face "the hunger games". It is really interesting so you should try it out if you haven't yet! Truly creative and amazing series!
