The Homeless Child Experiment

So I've been watching FouseyTube for a while now, and I can tell you that his videos have changed since the beginning. At first, he started doing little skits that Arabs could relate to, but then he started making pranks and eventually that led to him making videos that would teach life lessons. By the title, you can expect that the video posted below is about something that will hopefully "make you see the world in a different way". What he did was, he basically got a kid, dressed him up as someone homeless, and told him to stay on the streets asking for money just to see what would happen. Being a little kid, you'd expect him to get at least ten dollars. Is that what happens though? I'm gonna spoil it. He did not get more than three dollars. I still encourage you to watch it though, just to get a feel of what the world has come to.
I'm not gonna lie, this video is kind of eye opening. It makes you want to help as much as you can because I'm pretty sure each and everyone of you have thought "Someone else probably already gave him/her money", at least once in your life. Trust me, it's worse than you think, so why not just help whenever you can? It won't hurt anyone :) Please don't forget to tell me what you think about this video! I hope you enjoy it.

  1. That is a rather shocking truth. it just means that people now are not caring enough about homeless people, or maybe they are just not economically well. but even if that was the situation, it doesn't kill anyone to give maybe Q.3 to someone that's on the streets. I also think that the man who did this is rather cool, for with this videos he might be able to make people open their eyes and see how the situation is with those that are on the streets.

  2. OMG! I almost cried in this video! It is so shocking and when I always see homeless people in the street I give what is in my pocket and if i don't have at least any money I give them the rest of the food I was eating. This is so sad. I can't believe what is happening to our world! What is wrong?!

  3. WOW!! Poor man. I felt like if I was about to cry. It is true people are suffering and we need to help them. It is also true that some people may think that $1 is a little bit, but for poor people it seems like $100. We have to make this a better place for all the people to live in. Lets help people, not only ignore them. Imagine you are those people how would you feel. Think about it. Just a moment.

  4. The homeless should be able to keep their dogs. A lot of people say that if they can't take care of themselves they really shouldn't take on the task of caring for another living being, but when we have last everything, caring keeps us from getting to caught up in our own problems. He needs that dog, as long as he's putting its well being before his own. A dog that belongs to a homeless person will probably be the most happy. He's basically on a neverending walk, and that's pretty cool

  5. This is pretty astonishing, yet it is a sad reality within our society nowadays. It is true that sometimes we don't help because we think someone else already took care of that. I believe that is wrong, we should help people when we are capable of doing so. However, here in Guate and in hundreds of other cities around the world, we can't do this in many cases since we don't know what they will use the money for. I've heard stories of a guy in the streets claiming he can't walk walking in another zone of the city, claiming he has another problem. This is why I think we shouldn't, unless we see it is a true necessity the person has. In conclusion, don't get me wrong: helping out others is something we should all do.

  6. This video spoke to me. I really do understand how sick people are for walking by a homeless person and telling them they don't have money, while they have a Louis Vuitton or a Macy's bag in their hand. These people really don't value the blessings they have. That woman said that Yosef was disgusting for doing this experiment, but she didn't realize how disgusting she was for saying that.

  8. This video is really interesting. It is so sad how people just ignore those in need. Society doesn't notice how desperately people need help. Especially in successful countries, where it wouldn't hurt people at all to give a helping hand. What Yusef did was great. I really believe this world needs more people like this. This made my day. Thanks for the great post.

  9. It was sad to watch this movie. I mean, the whole time I was thinking, what if I was one of those people that just walked by, because I have done it before. I always felt bad, but I still didn't do anything. Maybe that was what people were thinking, but didn't act. I wonder if those people will ever see this video and realize that they didn't stop when they should have. I hope that we can all learn from this and strive to be a person that stops.

  10. I like how this video changes the perspective of those who watch it. There is this growing mentality of how those in need in developed countries are just lazy because of the abundance of opportunity; yeah right.

  11. This is really shocking! I have to admit that when I was watching the video I felt a knot in my throat. This is the real truth about the society in where we are living today. People of nowadays should be more helpful with the people who has less; however, people is selfish and they do not care about the less fortunate. It's true that sometimes we are not sure if we should give some money because we don't know how they are going to spend it or x problem that they said to have it’s not true; however, there is still homeless people that really doesn’t have anything so we should still give. It’s not necessary to give only money, you can buy them a meal, or give them cloths that you don’t use anymore. The main point here is that we should help the less fortunates in some way.

  12. Wow! Sadly enough, this is true. Sometimes we are to worried about ourselves and about our own problems that we forget that there are other people in the world. We forget that there are other people that are in worst situations than us and could use our help. Maybe we are worried about saving up for a videogame or some clothes or a computer or anything, that we forget that someone else is trying to get money for their lunch. They just want to get through that day. There are times that are money is just so much more valuable in someone else's hands than in ours. When we are going through a rough time, we should open our eyes, look around, and find opportunities to help others.

  13. The video was so sad, because we know its true and it hurts to be reminded of it. Through this video we see what we know in another perspective, and sometime its necessary to see things in another perspective. The other sad thing is that even though we know its true, we chose to ignore it or through the day we forget about it because of our own personal problems. We are selfish human being, because our own interest come first before others. I am not saying that its bad because if we don't take care of our self first we won't survive, but sometimes we have to take a step back and help others.

  14. In Guatemala its very difficult because you see people like this everywhere you look. You can't help everyone but you can always help a few. There have been moments where I walk right past people and I always feel bad when I do. I have give money and food and clothing to charities and shelters twice already. The first time I gathered a couple of thousand Quetzales from my first communion and I donated it. And the other one my mom took me to a place where elderly people have been dumped by their sons and daughters. We gave them clothing and food and money as well. It's good to help but don't kill yourself every single time you walk past a person asking for help because it happens more than one can offer. Everyone can help a little every once and a while and we should.
