The End of Hub and all the things I've liked about it

-David Correa-Schmick

Hey everybody! This is my first blog post so I'm doing one about a very popular TV channel called the Hub ending. Hub was a channel used to sell toys from Hasbro. Some of these toys included G.I. Joe, Transformers, and one of the most famous My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Hub started in 2010 and is expected to end on October 13, which is a Monday. The channel would then be called Discovery Family, but Hasbro will still control the channel's programming from 9 am to 3 pm.  Andrew Warren, the chief financial officer of Discovery, said "There are fewer and fewer channels out there where children and parents can watch together. Our objective, and our programming imperative, is to continue to think about daytime for children and nighttime for adults." The more you know, the more facts you can tell to people.

Back in America I used to watch Family Game Night on the channel and I loved it. The show was about these two families who compete against each other with games Hasbro has made like Sorry, Operation, Bop It, and Scrabble. If they win one of the challenges, they choose a card with an icon from the game Monopoly to see if they can win $1,000,000. The winner is the family who gets the most amount of money. It's kind of sad that a channel I grew up and liked it a lot has to go but I hope Discovery Family has some good shows that I will like a lot too. I miss you Hub.

  1. Wow! I had never heard about a channel called Hub, but I should see it fast before it ends or finishes. I can't wait!!! P.S. Who doesn't like My Little Pony ?, I mean... My Little Pony is the best :)

  2. I actually never watch TV, so I don't have much to say. However, I know that just like any other form of entertainment that is produced, it is always sad to see it end. Hopefully, before it is too late, the producers will change their decision so that they can set the viewers' minds at rest.

  3. I have never heard about that channel before, but I know how it feels when they take away one of your favorites channels. Back in Panama, they quit channel 7 which was a channel for cartoons (good cartoons), and they took it away and replaced it with a home channel (I actually like to watch programs about remodeling houses, but those were boring). It's always sad to see the end of things you like.

  4. Recently, I haven't watch TV, so I never heard of channel called Hub, but I recognize few characters, and that is kind of interesting. Well, I think most well known character is My Little Pony I guess.

  5. I unite to the voice of the previous commenters when I say that I had never heard of this channel, but it seems quite appealing. And concerning "Family Game Night", what a good show! You play Hasbro games and you earn money in doing so? That is awesome!

  6. My sister and I used to watch the Hub, I'm not surprised its ending. The channel itself is a huge marketing ploy, and although it did have "My Little Pony", a multigenerational hit, the majority of the content was pretty mediocre.

  7. Aww, I'll miss the hub, I used to watch it all the time! Though I guess it makes sense that its ending, it was never really popular, especially when compared to Disney channel or even Nick.
