Teamwork in Teams and Alone

The power of teamwork is very important.  It is important for everyone.  It is one of the things we overestimate all the time.  It is the power of teamwork that can change everything.  For example, if you are in a competition and it's just you, you get anxiety and pre-event stress.  Which changes your performance and emotions.   Also the only way to help this, is to have a good self-esteem.  Now, if your are competing as a team, your levels of oxytocin increases and pre-event stress decreases.  Also when you play as a team, there is more people to support you.  This video explains the power of teamwork.   The differences between being in a team and being alone.  The differences of performance. And also how the chemicals in your brain changes.  Now watch the video.

After you watched the video, you can see how important is teamwork.  How it might change to person to person.  And also do not blame your mates for your mistakes.

  1. Being in D.I. and working with a team, I've been able to see how teamwork is very important. You rely on each other to not only while preparing for your performance, but especially during your performance. Working with others is a skill that takes some getting used to. But like the video said, it also provides a lot of support for a person.

  2. I think teamwork really is important because in many things such as sports, games, and group projects, each member of the group gets a role they have to do. If one person screws up, the project would not be the best even if the other members of the group did the best thing.

  3. I always liked to work in a group and I think teamwork is very important in our life. People should know how to work as a team since in the future people will be working as a team often. It is important to know how to work individually, but I prefer to work as a team than independent working. If people get used to work individually too much, then they'll have trouble working as a team later and I think working as a team helps people to come up with better ideas and work so I like to work as a team than alone.

  4. I totally agree with you Seba, teamwork is so much better than working alone. Whenever we have a basketball game, I'm more excited than nervous because I'm having so much fun with my teammates, and you know you can count on them for anything. They've got your back and you've got theirs, and there is no better feeling than that. I do think that I work better in a team rather than alone, but that's just who I am. Some people actually work better alone.

  5. Although this video points out important-- yet very obvious-- qualities of teamwork, it doesn't consider the factor of the person. Like Arige said, some people work better alone, and enjoy working alone, so their levels of anxiety wouldn't be as high when participating in a team because they might not feel responsible for the others. I'm just trying to say that you can't just throw in scientific data and say this is what it is because there will always be a "it depends on the person/situation" catch.

  6. Although working independently is important, I believe being able to work in a team is crucial in everyday life. When you work with others, by your active participation, you can learn something new and teach something new. However, I believe teamwork may cause problems when this active participation does not occur. When the division of work is not done properly, this doesn't help anybody. In this case, it'd be better to work alone than working in a team. You can witness this in everyday life, even in school.

  7. Team work is probably the most essential requirement to be able to do any job. wether it is to be a physicist, one will need the cooperation of others to be able to prove something. In a war, the trust and work of your companions is what you need to protect your own life. In every game, or any job around the world, teamwork is essential. In order to achieve something Teamwork is required.

  8. I believe that team work defiantly lowers the nerves in everyone during a competition. Even though this is true, there are some people who put their guard down; allowing everyone else in their team to do all the work. I believe that team is useful if everyone works TOGETHER.

  9. I think another thing about working as a team is that it relieves the stress of having everything rely solely on yourself. You can also rely on other people. You also have people that will support you and help to succeed. Some people feel more confident when they have other people working on the same thing that have your back.

  10. I firmly agree with this video, and I notice that both working alone and in teams have advantages and disadvantages. When working in groups, we might be encouraged to do well if we want to win as a team. However, this makes one more nervous since you know that a group of people depends on your score for success. If you work alone, nobody will blame you if you lose, but the satisfaction will mostly come only to yourself and it might not be as fun. Personally, I have mixed feelings about working individually or in groups; I sometimes prefer working alone and prefer to work in group at other times. Nonetheless, this is just my opinion about the topic.

  11. I so agree with this video. I feel more stressed when I do a project alone than when I do with my class mates. I think that's why our class love to work together and we also work better when we work together. This video has a figure skating as an example, and I thought about how much stress I would get if I had to compete in Olympic without anyone who can support me. I would be depressed. By the way, I love his drawing too.

  13. I think team work has a huge impact on an individual and it does increase their confidence. In Destination Imagination, when my group and I are confident about doing a challenge, we almost always succeed. It's nice that we depend on each other, and we never let each other down. People shouldn't underestimate the power of teamwork because many successful things in life are a result of having someone by your side.

  14. I firmly with this video at an equal level as Roberto or even more firmly. When you are in a group you are more pressured to do well because your teammates are counting on you. This makes you not want to disappoint them so you work harder. You also have a less responsibility if you are in a team then if you are alone because it divided into however many people are in it. You can also motivate each other, as explained in the video, in order to decrease anxiety to improve performance.
