Hard Decisions: Would You Go For The Easy?

I'm currently reading an apparently popular book called If I Stay, by Gayle Forman. I began reading it because, well, it's all over the media and everyone our age is talking about it.
It might be a YA novel, and pretty easy to read, but it sure has a strong plot and conflict. The writing is also pretty good, if you ask me.
(Lily, I know how much you love this.)

Anyways, as you can see in the cover, there's a question: what would you do if you had to choose? I'm not done with the book yet, so I still don't know what role that question plays in the plot, but I think I have an idea of how.

Mia, a seventeen year-old girl has all her future figured out: She wants to leave her small-town to attend Juilliard, in New York City, and become a professional cellist. Besides, she has a loving boyfriend, who is a member of a punk band, and a loving family.
Sounds perfect right? Well, it all shatters when a fatal accident during  a road trip with her family kills everyone.
Or that´s what she thought.
After the accident, she has an off-body experience, and is able to see the remains left by the accident.

Sure, it sounds pretty cool to be outside your body, but it ain´t fun when you have to witness the bodies of your family (and yourself), or your car in flames.

Well, I think that the question comes into place right there. She probably has to make a decision of what to do with her life now. That is pretty scary all by itself. Imagine having must of your pieces put together, and because of an accident, you´re forced to create a new plan.
So, I was wondering, what is your opinion on this.
If you one day, without warning, you are forced to make a decision on what to do with your life, what would you do?
Here goes the book trailer, maybe it will make more sense if you watch it. :)

  1. This sounds like a pretty cool book! I've never heard of it until now! That's really interesting that she has to re-chose her whole life because of an accident. I wonder what it would be to be able to see you life and the lives of others from an omniscient point of view. It's kind of cool to think about. :)

  5. ohhh this book actually sounds like it's good. There's one problem though. I am a slow reader and I have two books to read already, but I will definitely read this as soon as I have the chance to!

    1. I'm actually a slow reader as well, which is pretty stressful because I have so many books I want to read, and I feel like I will never finish or start them. A lifetime is just not long enough

  7. You will love this book! I love it! It keeps you hanging on a thread throughout all the book. There is a second book to this one. I started to read it, but I didn't like it. I think that Gayle Forman lost her enchant on the second one. I wish there was a movie for this book!
