Hey guys! How are you? Hope you are all doing well! :) So I am the lucky one from my class who gets to be guest blogger for two months in a row, so you will be reading a lot from me in the next few weeks. Exciting, right?
Anyway, I am sure most of you know that the oscars were a couple of weeks ago. There was the Disney star, Zendaya, who wore a beautiful white dress with dread locks. Then, on the show Fashion Police (I am sure all of you know about this show, but just in case that there is someone who doesn't, it is a show where a group of people talk about celebrities' clothes, hair, or anything related to fashion), they were talking about how everyone looked at the oscars. Commenting on their looks, as usual. However, when they got to Zendaya, Giuliana Rancic made a comment that surprised everyone. It is all over the internet now. Some people said that she was too mean and crossed the line. Watch the video and comment what you think. Was she too mean or do you agree with her? Or do you just not care?

  1. I've heard a lot about this, but this is the first time I actually heard what she said. It was pretty mean, and a bit racist, but I don't think t was that bad. Especially since Fashion police is known for being a bit uncouth at times. I have to admit, I really liked her hair, it looked like the little mermaids!

  2. I truly thought that Giuliana Rancic’s comment was extremely derogatory, racist, and impudent. What appalled me even more was that this is a scripted show where a large number of staff are viewing the content of what is going to be said, which is rehearsed before hand— and yet, no one saw the racism in this awful comment. However, aside from Rancic’s disgusting comment, Zendaya did respond to this incident in probably the most mature manner. Zendaya, 18, eloquently responded via her twitter page and explained that she felt her hair gave her life and was a part of her character (you ought to read her whole response. It was really well crafted.) And she accepted Giuliana’s apology. I was highly impressed with Zendaya’s maturity and frustrated that a 40 year old would be so awful as to say that Zendaya, 18, probably smelled of “weed” due to her hair, of all things! I was so frustrated but impressed by the Zendaya. Be wise with what you say, everyone.

  3. I really don't get the purpose of The Fashion Police. Really, why does ANYONE want to hear a bunch of people criticizing celebrities dresses and stuff? I really think that the whole concept of the show is just so demeaning. I don't know how to feel about Giuliana's comment. I can purely see her immatureness and her need to take Joan River's, former host, place. Zendaya's hair, in my opinion, looks so cool. I really don't like dreadlocks, but she makes them seem almost beautiful. I have to agree with Lacey, we should be careful of what we say and who we say it too. If you hesitate for a moment if to say it or not, DON'T DO IT!

  4. I waited 10 minuets for this video to load but then I realized it was removed. ANYWAYS the whole time I was waiting for it to load Mr. was petting his Salvavidas water bottle and I'm not sure if it's his new pet or something.
