ODE TO THE PAST

I know that it's really unhealthy to keep on looking back at the past, but sometimes, it's worth it. Part of a child's childhood (ha ha ha) is watching TV. Most of the cartoons back in the old days, we full of wonder, new adventures, and well-written stories. Cartoon shows like Kim Possible, The Proud Family, Inuyasha, and Hey, Arnold! made childhood days awesome. Before TV used to show us moral lessons and take us on adventures that our innocent minds needed.

One of my favorite shows was Kim Possible. It was about a spy girl that tried to stop a mad scientist from conquering the world. It might sound cheesy or very cliché, but the adventures portrayed in it where awesome. From snowboarding down a mountain to catch the bad guys to fighting against a black belt enemy with fire powers, a.k.a. Sheego.

Another of my favorite shows was Rugrats. It was about a bunch of babies that were driven by their imagination. I loved to see that even them could have fun with toy screw driver and a Cynthia doll. They went to Paris and stopped a wedding. They simply had so much fun!

What was your childhood favorite TV show? Cartoon? Would you like for channels to have a come back week where they showed all the old TV shows?

Kim Possible

Rugrats

That's So Raven

Bear in the Big Blue House

  3. Aww I miss all these shows so much. I used to run up the stairs after school to watch Kim Possible and Pokemon. Inuyasha was the first manga I read, way back during the dinosaur age. I wish more shows were like that.

  4. Those were really good times. I really liked Kim Possible, That's so Raven, Inuyasha, Shaman King, Bear in the blue house, etc but those were the ones that I liked to watch the most. I miss those kind of shows. I just like a few shows of the nowadays but not to much. It would be awesome to see those kind of shows in television again.

  6. That was a fun walk down memory lane! It's so nice yet very nostalgic to remember old television shows. It makes me feel like a kid again. I remember watching The Powerpuff Girls, The Fairly Odd Parents, Recess, Kids Next Door, and so many others! Now I don't even watch tv. I miss the classics.

  7. So Bear in the Big Blue House was the TV show that You were scared of Arielle. It is so fun seeing again the old TV shows. I remember the Rugarts and Kim Possible, but not Bear in the Big Blue House and That's so Raven. I think that the cartoons today are really bad. Why do people stopped passing the this TV shows.

  8. So... much.... nostalgia... I watched all of these shows when I was a little kid. These shows were actually counted among some of my favorite shows. They were right up there with Digimon and the Suite life of Zack and Cody. Great post, Arielle.

  10. This brings back so many memories! Some of this shows were part of my childhood, especially Kim Possible! The shows now are nothing compared to the shows that I used to watch. It´s a shame that they don´t make shows like this anymore; I would want my kids to be watching today´s shows. Thank you for bringing back the memories!

  11. Honestly speaking I think cartoons now a days are so weird. But yeah I believe during our childhood we watch quite a lot of T.V. I have seen Kim Possible and I liked it but it was not my favorite and since you asked for out favorites, I must say I loved Sakura Cardcaptor and the Powerpuff Girls. I have not seen any of these shows recently but they were funny and entertaining. You mentioned something interesting about them having moral lessons in the episodes and I think that´s what the cartoons are missing now, or at least they don´t enforce it as strongly as before.

  12. Oh man, I used to watch all of those shows as a kid! Are they even still on TV anymore? I think it would be interesting to watch those shows now. The one I enjoyed the most was That's So Raven, and Kim Possible, mainly because those are the ones I remember the most, apart from Rugrats. I remember watching Bear In The Big Blue House, but I don't really remember what it was about. I'm sure if most of us watched any of these shows now, we would realize how messed up they are.

  13. Dang this really brought me back down memory lane! Thanks! It's a shame they aren't airing these classics as frequently anymore. I used to watch every single one of these shows, and they bring back so many fun memories.

  15. In these videos are part of my childhood! bring many memories from believe I was a spy thanks to Kim or wanting a rodent like Rufus. Kim Possible and That's so Raven were my favorite tv shows... That's so Raven was hilarious. I think the producers should do tv shows like that again or transmitting again

  16. I watched all of these shows at one point or another, but I didn't really enjoy the Rugrats or Bear in the Big Blue House, but I did love Kim Impossible and That's So Raven, they were hilarious and the intro songs where so catchy too, somewhere in my things I probaby still have one or two action figures from Kim Impossible. I feel like kid's tv shows today are so cliche and instead of teaching a lesson or something of that sort they just contribute to violence and bad habits. It would be nice if they made TV shows like before.

  17. All this shows are my childhood and it brings so many awesome memories! I remember waking up at 7 a.m. every morning to catch the Big Blue House, on disney. I would want boomerang with all those cartoons to come back! I remember watching the Flintstones and the Jetsons.

  18. We were actually just talking about this last week at our lunch table. We went from Kim Possible to Digimon to Jimmy Neutron. I remember that as a little kid my favorite was Fairly Odd Parents because it was brand new and I found it very amusing. Now, as an 18-year-old, I must say it's Phineas & Ferb.

  19. Oh my god, these videos are all about my childhood. If I watch this again now, it would be boring or sometimes creepy. Still, I loved those cartoons and stuffs when I was young. I actually was talking about those old cartoons last Saturday with my friends. It was fun.

  22. Ahhhh I miss all of these shows! I remember I had a Kim Possible pajama that said "Call me:" with a box for me to put my number on it....That's so Raven was the best and Hey Arnold too and basically everything that you listed up there Arielle, haha.

  23. Wow, we have different childhood. I was grown up in different country, so I barely know these cartoons, and that's why I have nothing to say when my classmates talk about their childhood and the old cartoons. When this happens, I feel sad, but sometimes I meet a person who can share childhood memories, and it's really exciting.

  24. I was an avid TV watcher when I was a little kid. I never had any favorite show in particular, but sometimes I just like to think back on the shows I used to watch, like SpongeBob, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, and even Kim Possible. I remember that I kinda had this pattern. In the daytime, I'd watch Nickelodeon, and when night came, I'd change the channel to Cartoon Network.

  25. Those shows were awesome and why don't the people who run the channels keep these shows on air?

  26. These shows are awesome, like Anas said, I really did enjoy my childhood, and a big part of my childhood I spent watching TV. Whenever I watched TV I would watch these shows, they remind me so much of my childhood and I enjoyed it a lot.

  27. I watched That's So Raven and The Rugrats. I love them because there is no time they will not make me laugh. These shows are really cool, I wanted to watch Kim Possible but it is not available which is sad, but I remember watching it a lot. I also remember waking up early on Saturday to watch Looney Tunnes which was worth it to wake up at that time to watch them.

  28. Kim Possible was awesome! Rufus was the best character of them all by a long shot! The other shows were ok..... I guess. I saw tacos on that show long before I even ate one.

  29. I think my favorite cartoon was samurai Jack or Dexter. I could not stop watching them, they were the coolest thing during my childhood. I would pay a lot of money to watch them all over again. From the four cartoons you chose, I think I would go for Kim Possible because I liked how a girl could be a spy and a good fighter

  30. Oh wow! I really miss all of these shows. All the way from Rugrats to animes like Samurai Jack or One Piece. I wish they passed all of these in Cable TV. Now if you wanna watch it, it'll have to be through the internet. Great post! Thanks for posting.

  31. The only show I didn't watch from the videos you posted is the Bear in the Big Blue House. I can't pick a favorite because my favorite has always been spongebob. Now that I think of it there are so many shows that I had completely forgotten about.

  32. I agree with Sebastian, out of all the shows above the only show I didn´t watch was the Bear in the Big Blue House. It´s pretty amazing to be remembering the shows I used to watch as a kid. I still can´t believe why shows now-a-days are nothing compared the shows we used to see before. I think that the shows that they have now ruin the kids mentality, but that is just my opinion. Anyway, I really do love your post and thank you for reminding me of my childhood!
