Social Networking On Real Life

Hello everyone! It's me again :) So I was watching videos on Youtube the other day and found this. I thought it was very funny. I am sure we all do so many things on social networks that seem so normal and not creepy at all, but if we did all the poking, following, and liking in real life, everything changes drastically. I love how the woman is not shy at all to talk to strangers. I know I would definitely not be able to do it. It is really hard for me to talk to some stranger in the street. Maybe just the usual greeting out of education, but apart from that, nothing. Would you be able to do that? Would you be able to walk in the streets and talk to random people like the woman in the video did?
I am sure it would be fun because of all the weird responses you would receive.
Well, I hope you guys find this video as entertaining as I did. Please comment what you think!

  1. Social networking isn't social at all. Or well, it might be. What do I know?

    1. You are right, it isn't social at all because social is to be with people not infront of a computer...

  2. This video was pretty funny. It made me think that we do so much stuff on social networks that feel so normal to us because we are used to it but in reality we don't realize what it really means and what it would look like in real life.

    1. I agree with Jorge, we say it so often in the internet but one we here it outside of it in the real world it sounds extremely creepy.

  3. It's so weird using social network terms in real life like "follow" or "poke". Also, I have to admit the video is true.

  4. Hmmm. It really does seem odd when you put it in that sense, doesn't it? I sometimes get tired of social media because for some, it's all about how many "likes" or "follows" you receive. It's bizarre. Our world today is so wrapped up in this craze. Whenever I visit the States, it seems like everyone is glued to their cellphones. How unnerving.

    Why not disconnect to connect?

  5. I am not an addict to social networks. I mean I check them every two or three days. I think that part of a kid's childhood is lost due to social networks, partially. My little brother, for example, is always on Facebook and he gets mad at me when I don't Like or comment his posts. Kids these days are being taught to disconnect from the world and go into a virtual world. It is not only dangerous, but it is kind of sad as well. People don't really talk face to face anymore.

    1. I agree that the people don't talk face to face anymore!!! Every time I go to Korea people are just staring at the cell phone in subway and sometime I talk to Wendy through our cell phone even though we are right next to each other.

  6. I thought it was interesting. I liked how the girl wasn't shy. She just went and did the stuff even though she was getting really weird stares. It is funny how we do all this stuff online, but if we actually do it in life its odd. You get weird stares and comments like she did in the video.

    1. I agree with you. I liked how she is not shy do her stuff. I wouldn't be able to do it because I'm really shy :D. And many people do all the weird stuff online, but they feel odd to do it in real life.

  7. Hahaha, she reminds me of Ms. Aracelis! The video is really interesting and very creative because I never thought this would be really happening in real life! I like the following one haha it's creepy, but it would be funny if I was the one doing it and the person's face is like What??!!

  8. As Chris said above, social networking isn't really social at all, and as demonstrated by this video, when applied to real social situations it's incredibly uncomfortable. Social networking should remain in its own antisocial domain.

  9. This was interesting and I hope that people were able to recognize what was going on and see that everything they do is pretty ridiculous. Social networking has gotten out of control and is a social pressure that does not need to be around.

  10. This was quite eye-opening to me. Isn't it ironic how we have termed the cyber-world to be "social." Yet it's entirely social in a different sense. Our lives are not confined to all that is happening, trending, and being displayed on a four-inch screen.

  11. HAHAHAHAHA! It was really funny. I would like to do it because it show how the social networks are but taken in real life which is to literal. It is so weird.
