Reincarnated

Reincarnated(2012) is a movie/documentary made by Vice films about hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg becoming Snoop Lion. Snoop Dogg used to sing and perform with other rappers and hip-hop artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Dr. Dre, and Tupac. He was famous for being "gangsta," but after he experienced the deaths of several friends and was  convicted for murder in 1996, he wanted a more peaceful life. He decided to follow the path of reggae music and went on a trip to Jamaica to learn more about the "Rastafarian" culture for his new reggae album, Reincarnated.
During the film, he joins up with Diplo, a dj, Bunny Wailer, a reggae artist who has once been in a group with Bob Marley, and others.  He learns more and more about the Jamaican and reggae culture with all his partners and releases his album in April 19, 2013.  This post was inspired by Jorge Paredes, who is a fan of Snoop Dogg/Snoop Lion. Comment below on whether you prefer the old Snoop Dogg or the new Snoop Lion.

  1. Snoop Dog is my idol. Vice makes pretty great documentaries, although sometimes their journalists seem like total jerks. This documentary seems to have less of that, which I appreciate.

    1. I agree with you Loosle. I think this documentary will be cool and interesting to watch, because I did not even know that Snoop Dogg was convicted for murder. I'm glad he was found not guilty.

    2. Your right hashish this does look like an interesting movie. Especially because many of us are very curious of what snoop's life is all about. I am sure I'll watch this movie on the weekend.

    2. It is interesting that you like Snoop Dog Marcia. I wouldn't expect that from the music that I've heard you play before, but its good too.

  3. Snoop Dog is the bomb. His songs might be all about weed, but the beat and his lyrics truly make a great combination. Recently he has been doing reggae which I don't really listen to, but it sounded pretty good. Reincarnated will not only show us how Snoop Dogg and his daily life, but it will display a side of entertainment that will attach the audience.

    1. I agree with your comment Fares, I think that his lyrics do go well with the beat and come out as an all around good song. I also think that this movie will be interesting to watch but honestly, Snoop Dog.. or I guess Snoop Lion is very weird most of the time. So regrading what I just said, the movie could also be very weird.

  4. I find it weird that Snoop Dogg is changing music. He made good raps so I find it weird that he's changing to reggae.

    1. How can that be weird? I am pretty sure you haven't listened to any raps or song from Snoop Dogg. Well, if you didn't, you should.

  5. Cool! Even though this movie is pretty old, I am pretty sure it was really famous and everyone liked it. I still don't know what does the title, "Reincarnated" have to do with the movie. And even though I didn't watched this movie, I know that I would have liked it. Amazing!

  6. I like some of Snoop Dog's songs, in fact one of our favorite songs as a 10th grade class is by Snoop Dog. It's kind of weird but I find it interesting and some of his music is chill. It's fun to listen to, I don't know about this movie it looks kind of dramatic and I can't take Snoop Dog very seriously.

    1. This wasn't a movie this was like a documentary of Snoop Dog's (Lion's) experience in Jamaica and the album he made while he was there. It is a big transition from rap to the music he made in this album. Nonetheless it is really good.
