Why frozen really wasn't that great...

Now that the Frozen craze has ended, I would like to bring to light the argument against it. Frozen has been described as "funny, whimsical and delightful", and most importantly, "original". All three of these things are questionable at best. The animation style of frozen has been done before, the characters lack any depth or personally and are more caricatures than actual beings. They embody stereotypes, with lackluster dialogue that tells instead of shows. Some may defend Frozen; it is, after all, a children's movie...right? This is no excuse as there have been many a children's movie with quick, witty dialogue. I cannot express these points nearly as well as the video below does, so take the time to watch it.

Do you agree with his points? Does this change your view of Frozen? Do you have anything to say in defense of Frozen?

  3. I’m definitely impressed at how thorough this video was carried out. It’s sort of interesting because I feel as though I now understand why I didn’t quite enjoy the movie or catch on to the fad and obsession of the movie as much (if at all) as nearly everyone else did. I too felt like the movie was, for lack of a better word, absolutely bland. I do agree with quite a few of his points. The video didn’t change by view of Frozen but rather reiterated and polished how I feel about the movie.

  4. From the beginning I didn't like Frozen that much, I thought, and still do, that Frozen was kind of, boring. It was an okay movie, for me. Those movies that you watch during the meantime. I don't know why people made so much fuzz about it, I found the story line pretty, bland and not that interesting. I know, it was cute, but that was it for me. And the song, that song, just sick of it. Overall, I agree with some points of the video, but some were a little exaggerated.

  5. This post made me laugh a little bit for two reasons. First, this is the first blog post that criticizes Frozen, from our school. Second, I never watched the movie because my brother told me it was horrible and finally more people are helping me come to the conclusion that it was a good idea, for me, to not watch it.

  6. I thought Frozen was "THE children's movie" when it first came out. Everyone was watching it and many people thought it was great, or at least it seemed that way. Since it is getting old, it appears to be that people change their opinions about what they thought with regards to the movie. I saw the movie, but I don't consider myself an expert on it. However, I can say that maybe the strong advertisements they made for the movie raised expectations that were probably fulfilled at the time, not truly, but as an illusion. In other words, people were so submerged in the movie's world, that everything that came with the Frozen logo on it was automatically perfect. Nonetheless, since quite a while has passed since the movie came out, these "distortions of reality," if you will, are coming to an end and maybe the movie is being regarded as it truly is, not how it was seen a couple of months ago. I want to stress, though, that this does not at all mean the movie was bad. Instead, I think it was a decent movie made by Disney.

  7. Yep I agree, I thought those characters and songs were really good, it was attractive. However, the story was really boring and as Roberto said, it was children's movie.

  8. What else do we expect from Disney? Everyone talks about how this was such a horrible movie and stuff, but the real problem is Disney itself, as the guys from the video said, I think. Disney has changed from the time we were kids watching Mulan. Just look at how they destroyed Star Wars and Marvel!
