Robin Williams, Dead at 63

It is inevitable that everyone has already heard about Robin Williams untimely death. Robin Williams was a seasoned actor and comedian, getting his start on Mork & Mindy, later to star in his first movie, Popeye, as the spinach-guzzling sailor. Robins was a master actor, simultaneously starring in serious, Oscar winning roles, all the while pursuing his career as a comedian. Robin Williams will be unforgettable. His role as Dr. Sean Maguire in the Academy Award-winning film Good Will Hunting.

Where did Robin Williams come from though? Williams was born in Chicago, Il; his father a Ford executive, his mother a former model. Williams received a full ride to Juliard, where he studied until 1976. It was obvious from that start that Williams was extremely talented. He was one of the two freshman admitted into the Advanced Placement program at Juliard.

Williams's tragic death will leave a vacancy in the realm of great actors, may he rest in peace.

  1. I always believed Robin Williams was an excellent actor and comedian. His death at a not-so-old age truly surprised me, and I didn't know why until I actually read the article. It was an apparent suicide since he allegedly had been struggling with depression recently. I don't understand, though, how someone like Robin Williams, who had everything, and who everyone admired could dare to take such a step and end his own life in such a dramatic way. Robin Williams, rest in peace.

  2. As you've already stated, Robin William's death was untimely indeed. It is always such a tragic thing to hear of the deaths of wonderfully talented and jovial human beings, for which Robin Williams falls into this category quite exquisitely. He was truly a wonderful man, an incredible actor and a comedic genius who's absence will be dearly missed.

  3. Wow, I never realized his parents were so important. I wonder if his early life was all parties and vacations to Europe. I also never knew he was so smart! I just thought he was a nice funny guy. I can't believe he's dead, let alone that he killed himself!

  4. He was always on the movies or shows or cartoons I used to watch, since I watched them in spanish, I did not know it was Robin William. All the movies he acted on, all the laughs he gave me, makes me very sad that he killed himself.
It tremendously said that he left our world is such early age, and also that he could have done so much more. Also it's is another probe that money does not buy happiness.

  5. It is really sad that the life of an actor like Robin Williams has come to an end. He won't be able to make new movies that give an emotional impact to the viewer. However, why do people forget that celebrities are just normal people? Everyone (I know this sounds cliche) will die at some point. Why do people cry over the death of a celebrity that they would see on TV? It's not like everyone knew that celebrity personally, and, therefore, people should get over it. Robin Williams was 63 years old. That's pretty old for a celebrity. Also, keep in mind that the life of a famous person isn't as perfect as it seems. So, yeah. Sorry if I offended anyone.

  6. This was the most shocking news yet, he looked so friendly and funny. He didn't look like the kind of guy who did drugs or had a drug addiction but he did. He was battling addiction for a long time now and I guess that took a toll on his life and emotions and took his life because of this reason. It is still shocking and sad to know that a great comedian took his life.

  9. It is terrible that he hung himself, he was an awesome actor and he always made me laugh. I remember watching all the movies that he came out because he was such a funny great guy. I am still shock that he did drugs and was in a depression because he mainly made family movies and because he looked like he was happy al the time.

  12. Robin Williams was a very funny and creative man. I always laughed at him comedy, and acknowledged his creativity. It is very bad news to hear that he decided to commit suicide. My belief is that he entered a depression and couldn't handle it. I'm sure it was very tough for all his family and friends. Robin Williams.... RIP

  28. Everyone knew and loved Robin Williams, that much is obvious. I personally loved him because of his sense of humor that some believed was somewhat twisted. I loved it either way. I'm just disappointed his legend will be tarnished by the method of his death. And Mrs. Doubtfire, maybe. Maybe.
