This is interesting, I would have never guessed those things. I never knew Halloween goes back that far into history.
ReplyDeleteMy mom never liked Halloween. She never let me go trick-or-treating. She had always believed it was a demonic holiday. I have tried to convince her to let me go just for the candy but she doesn't like it because of the reasons above.
ReplyDeleteI never knew all that stuff but when I heard it it seemed reasonable. I didn't watch all of it cause I didn't like how she spoke. She was too slow, they should've made it more interesting to watch. I got bored. But what I did hear was pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I found her accent incredibly bothersome, and the background and costume too goofy to take seriously. I could only make it 3 minutes into the video before calling it quits. However, I do quite enjoy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWow, it's halloween already! I planned nothing for this year's halloween, but I see everyone happy and preparing lots of stuff for halloween day! My sister is planning to dress like a black cat and go to a halloween party in Colegio Maya. However, I don't think she can get a permission from our mom. Haha
ReplyDeleteThe origins of halloween is very fascinating. All the customs have evolved throughout the years, But its interesting how something so terrible back then can now become a nice family event. Halloween is always changing and evolving.
ReplyDeleteI dont celebrate halloween but when i was little i would follow my friends and go trick or treating. But i do give candies to children when they come to my house. I found it kinda disappointing how halloween started! i was expecting something more scary or interesting... i found kind of annoying the facial expressions the women was doing in the video... still happy halloween
ReplyDeleteHalloween is so cool! It's so strange hearing about people banning halloween, or hating it. Its not evil or demonic, Its just appeasing the dead and keeping ghosts from messing with you! I wonder where she got her accent. It was kind of hard to listen to.
ReplyDeleteI never knew all these facts about Halloween. I agree that it was difficult to stay interested because she is just sitting there telling us the history of this holiday. I think she could have made it a little more entertaining for the viewers.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to know the history of a holiday such as halloween. Many people don't like this holiday because they believe that it is a celebration for evil when it isn't. It's nice that someone went through the trouble to clarify that.
ReplyDeleteIn my family we don't like to celebrate Halloween because of the type of 'holiday' it represents. I don't think one can really call it a holiday because it doesn't really commemorate anything worthy of true celebration. However, we do like the tradition of dressing up in a costume and trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. The best part comes at the end, though, when we eat all of the candy!
ReplyDeleteI don't celebrate Halloween, but I like the season. Lots of scary movies, I like the weather, and lots of pie! Interesting facts about the origins of Halloween; however, I watched a video in my past school, back in Panama, about the origins of Halloween being related with Satanism. The most that I remember from the video is that the people who practice satanism start doing rites from September 24 until Halloween which included human sacrifices. There is more, but my comment would be to long. I just wanted to share what I know about Halloween.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, As Belen said, I didn't celebrate Halloween when I was in Korea, so really didn't care about the origin of Halloween I thought it just naturally exist. How ever, the video is really interesting.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about this facts. I really wan't interested in Halloween because I never celebrated. Still I learned new and interesting facts about Halloween. I liked the video :)
