The concept of dreaming is cool, but the concept of lucid dreaming is even cooler. For those who don't know a lucid dream is a dream where you are aware that you are dreaming. Unfortunately, you usually end up waking up once you realize you are dreaming, but if you don't you usually end up being able to control your dreams, which I find pretty cool. It is said that children are the ones who have the most lucid dreams, so you have most likely already had a lucid dream, even though you might not remember it. So as I was browsing through YouTube the other day I came across this video about how to lucid dream. I am actually going to try all of these things myself. There are also some really cool and scary facts about lucid dreaming, like did you know you can become temporarily paralyzed when you lucid dream? Yeah, I didn’t know either. So check this video out!

I rarely dream and remember it. Good side is no nightmares, ever, bad side is no lucid dreaming. Still, the idea of controlling your world while you are sleeping is some matrix level stuff. Sounds cool.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. Now, I know that I do dream all the time. I always thought that I wasn't dreaming because I was really tired. It is a good idea having a dream journal like the kid that has a dream journal in "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl." I am going to do one. I am going to start maybe tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I dream about things that happen to in the future. Things that are very probable to occur and sometimes they do. That gives me a deja vu moment oftenly its kinda cool. I have heard that you can do this because it's happened to me. I have dreamt something one day and I continued it the next. What sucks is when you are having a great dream and then the alarm sounds. Has anybody noticed how the best dreams often come at the last minute? I hate it.
ReplyDeleteLately I don't have many dreams, but when I was a kid, I just to go everywhere in me dreams. It's sad how I lost the ability to dream whenever I wanted to. Well, I will try the techniques to start to dream again.
ReplyDeleteMy friend told me once that a person could have up to 7 dreams a night, and I didn't believe her. One night, I had so many crazy dreams and when I woke up, I could count up to 5 dreams, although I knew I had more. I told my friend that what she said was completely true, but I was amazed by how right she was. In the seven hours I sleep everyday, I have these crazy dreams and I can't remember three of them most of the time. I actually controlled my dreams a few times in the past, which I thought was crazy but I found really interesting. I always make an attempt to control my dreams every once in a while, but it isn't easy. Just a random thought, controlling dreams kind of reminds of Divergent because Tris was able to be aware that she was under a simulation, so.... maybe I'm Divergent!
ReplyDeleteI used to remember my dreams most of the days when I was younger, but these days, I usually don't. I think it's cool to dream now that I don't get to get them much anymore. About the dreaming where your body doesn't move and you start seeing scary things, I've heard people say that they had that, but I've never had it.
ReplyDeleteI like what this video talks about because it gives information of how dreams work. It also gives you an advice of how you can record your dreams
ReplyDeleteI've heard of lucid dreaming before and I didn't know very much about it but now I do! Thanks. I think that is super neat that people are capable of keeping their mind aware while dreaming. However, I'm not sure if I want to attempt this on my own... It just seems too much of an unknown realm or world and I feel too incapable of doing something so bizarre as that.
ReplyDeleteI have had times where if something is on my mind or I am stressed about something or there is anything currently prominent in my life, I tend to see them in my dreams. It's all super interesting.
WOW! this is so cool, im going to try this and see what happens. if after a while you wake up and keep dreaming while awake what would happen? kind of like sleep walking.
ReplyDeleteLucid dreaming sounds like something people on a high would experience. I've read articles about it, and there seem to be people who try it, but I'm not so sure what the point is. Like Gio said, I never remember my dreams, and it doesn't bother me whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing about lucid dreaming for a while now. Since this topic made me curious I had researched about it. Turns out while you're lucid dreaming you can fall into a small coma and actually see horrific creatures and whatnot--according to an experienced person who has been through this.
ReplyDeletePretty Interesting.
Thanks for the post!
Thats cool! I want to lucid dream! It would be so cool, well in my opinion. But it seems like a lot of work and you might not even get a lucid dream or not...I wouldn't want to do this on my own, maybe hear about it from someone. Plus it sounds a little freaky to go into like sleep paralysis or what ever that thing is.
ReplyDeleteMost of time, I don't remember my dreams. So even though I want to write it down I can't. Some times I was lucid dreaming but I woke up immediately. Anyway, I'd like to lucid dream for long time. I think I should try what the guy say here.
ReplyDeleteI rarely remember my dreams, but the idea of yourself controlling your dreams sounds really cool, but its a lot of work just for remember parts of your dreams...
