What if you had the opportunity to change your entire image with a computer... Its called photoshop. Most if not all models don't look like what they look like in a magazine. Most of them look like us. They all have imperfections. In this video, some women went to a photo shoot, got makeup, hair and clothing done, and then got pictures taken. After the photos were taken, they got photoshopped. They look completely different. Im not going to say much more. You will see the girls reactions for yourself.
-Rebecca Orozco,
Remember! Your perfect in your own strange ways!
this is so true! i cant believe that after looking so perfect they felt bad, sad, and sorry for feeling so bad about themselves before! but its true, phototshop isn't the key to looking like a MODEL.
ReplyDeleteI think this video has a good point, and I agree with it. We want to be perfect but without the imperfection, we are not who we are. Nice video. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteIf we had no imperfection, we would just be like robots; I think imperfections are what makes our identities and makes us unique. Sometimes those characteristics may not be the best things, but I guess we need to learn to love ourselves just the way we are.
DeleteI think that if the photographer knows how to use photoshop properly, then it's not a bad thing, since they make the picture look more professional. But there are people who just don't know how photoshop works, and it's pretty obvious that the model's face was altered. That's part of marketing, and we can't do anything about it, because that's how they've decided to portray the models. What we CAN do is choose to believe that's how we're supposed to look.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! They are right you can be perfect. You don't have to make yourself look perfect. Just be yourself. You are who you are. Don't try being a person who you aren't. You are special, everyone is special. Don't ever forget who you really are!!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see those before after photoshop pictures i'm always stunned. Seeing how the models reacted after seeing themselves get photoshopped was really interesting, and it was cool seeing them miss their imperfections. I wonder how professional models react when they see themselves in magazines...Do they like how they look or miss their imperfections.
ReplyDeleteWe are beautiful period. There are no but´s, I can see from all the women they are beautiful in their own way.Imperfections are beautiful they are part of you!
ReplyDeleteIt's so disappointing that models get their make-up, hair, and nails done for a photo shoot and after their photos have been take, the pictures are adjusted with the use of photoshop.
ReplyDeleteThis was a very inspiring. :) Just like Kelly said it really IS pretty astounding to see the before and after versions of photoshop. It's such a shame to see how much society and media distort what beauty really is. It's what's on the inside, not the outside. :)
ReplyDeleteShort but very sweet and extremely inspiring and moving and motivational. I think it's important for EVERYONE to remember that the "cover photo girls and boys" aren't real. It's just not them! They've been tweaked and touched up and edited so much to the point that they aren't even themselves anymore. I really like what the one lady said: "Once someone else has done your makeup and someone else has done your hair, and someone's directed the way your body looks, and then taken away your imperfections, THEN THERE'S NOT MUCH LEFT OF WHO YOU REALLY ARE." That is propably something that everyone forgets- that the people that are on magazines (and more) aren't real, to an extent. I think there are many valuable lessons to learn from this video, for everyone.
ReplyDeleteEditing pictures has become part of the art of photography. Photo manipulation to get subjects exactly how you want them is the same as making a painting of someone. You want it to look it's best. If you're selling a product it's a given that there will be heavy editions. While it's great that everyone is aware that this is happening, I don't know. It feels like there's been a lot of movements to change this. In the end it's a piece of art, and the artist is the one who decides how it looks, not the subject.
ReplyDeleteI guess I kinda always understood that everyone was women in their own different way, but this video kinda helped me to know that there is no person in this world that is just naturally perfect. Sometimes I wish that photoshopping didn't exist so everyone could see how everything really is. This video was really inspiring :D
ReplyDeleteI liked how this video showed that nobody is perfect and that nobody can look like the girls in magazines because we are all different in our own ways. I loved this video. I think a lot of people can learn from it. I know I have learned from it.
ReplyDeleteI think photoshop is really awesome program. You cam change how you look. But I don't think photoshop is good. It can make you beautiful but I think you should love how you really look. Like the quote "You are perfect in your own strange way" Everyone is perfect so don't try to change yourself. You are awesome in your own ways.
ReplyDeleteI like this video because it shows you that people we see in magazines aren't as perfect as they look because no one is perfect and changing all your unique traits so you can somewhat look "perfect" is not ok.
ReplyDeleteImperfections are important to me because if I were to be perfect everything would be on my favor, and I would not take any risks to look good. Photoshop is just another program to make you look good, and I think imperfections are just details and they are not a big deal.
ReplyDeleteI really think most girls should watch this video because the truth is make up or photoshop doesn't make you perfect. Everyone is perfect in their own ways no matter what. You might look at a magazine and think wow they're perfect. But you are also perfect in every single way!
ReplyDeleteI think this video should be watched by every girl in the world, because so many girls think that they are not pretty and that they need makeup and other products or things to be pretty, but after watching this video I saw that that is not needed, all of us are perfect in our own ways. It is very inspiring.
