The Dying Swan
Many of you may already know the story of The Swan Lake. If you don't, then click here. This video is my favorite from The Swan Lake, because it's the part where the sawn is dying. If I remember well, she was dying because the sawn lake had gotten out of water, and she wanted to get the water back with her tears. It was either that or that she was dying of love.
If you din't know this story, and if I hadn't tell you what this scene means, based on the music and movements, what would you think it is about?

Ioana
Ioana, a Romanian model, is 5 ft 6 in, and weights 84 pounds and her hips are 32 in. She is known for being one of the smallest models IN THE WORLD!! Also, if you notice, if you look at her hips, she looks undernourished. As a baby, she was normal, but during her teenage years, she began to look different, like we see in the picture. She seems to have been born in the wrong country, because in Romania, it is better to be overweight, because it means that maybe you come from a wealthy family.
Not everything is suffering for Ioana. In 2006, she met a German named Jan. They dated for eight months, and then married. Ioana says that he was the first person who saw her as beautiful :')
It was because of Jan that Ioana became a model, he would ask her to pose on photos for him.
By the picture, what would you think is beautiful in her? By: Pablo Arimany

not the only conqueror
Luciano Wolff
Today we went to Universidad Fransico Marroquin and found that Pedro de Alvarado was not the only who conquered Guatemala and Mexico. His brother Jorge de Alvarado also participated in these conquests. Historians found this through a giant parchment that is kept in fransico Marroquin for exibition in its museum. The only odd thing is that 1/3 of the parchment is missing and no one knows what it has. What do you think the missing piece of the parchment contains?

Life full of Bling
Have you ever lost any loved one? did you bury them or cremated the body and scatter the ashes? Whatever your choice I doubt that you have used your love one's ashes to create a piece of Jewelry. That's right there is a whole enterprise were you can give some of your love one's hair or ashes and turn it into a variety of jewels of different sizes and colors starting at 2000 U.S . their official site is http://www.lifegem.com/. Would you use this service if it was available here in Guatemala?

Wikipedia is fun!
It is fun to mess with Wikipedia posts! Especially when it
has nothing to do with the topic. I personally like to mess with historical
posts. For example "Tom Cruise was the first president of the United
States of America." You should try it. It is one of those things that are
funny only when they happen to other people, or when it happens to your sister
in the other room who find out that octopi live in trees.

New Planet
Luciano Wolff
Astronomers found a habitable planet outside our solar system about 22 light years from Earth. It is very likely that this planet has water and enough light to support life. This planet has 4.5 more mass than earth. If they ever colonized another planet would you go and live there?
Link for more information is here.

Birthdays!
CC Image courtesy of jessica.diamond
Birthdays are literally the day you are born. But every single year, each and every one of us has a new birthday and we turn older. This is weird because you say,"It's my birthday!" It isn't actually your birthday. It is the day you were born but years later.
Birthdays seem like a quite modern thing for me. I wonder if some of the ancient civilizations like the Romans or Greeks ever celebrated birthdays. It would be awesome to know.
What do you usually do for your birthday? Which of your birthdays was your favorite? When is your birthday? What do you like the most about your birthday?

Sports
CC Image Courtesy of Ben Sutherland on Flickr
Sports are really awsesome activities that help us to be healthy, have a good physical condition and have lots of fun. I would guess that soccer is the most common sport on Earth. I like soccer but I prefer tennis. Other sports are ping-pong, football, baseball, rugby, swimming, etc. Also, this year, the Olympic Games will be held in London, England. It will be a great opportunity for us to watch sports and maybe even get inspirated to play one of them. In the Olympics, we notice that there are a bunch of sports that a extremely cool but that we have never heard of or seen. Here come the questions: Do you practice sports? If so, what sport(s) is it? Do you watch the Olympic Games?

Be Warned!
SOPA is on the move people. SOPA is a new law that is supposed to regulate the internet. Megaupload was shutdown by SOPA inspectors. Google could be next. So be sure to secure your information so you don't loose it. Many people like to use a USB instead of storing their data online. This can be better but don't put all your eggs in one basket. Keep the information online and use a USB to be safe.
